Our Ethos
In the studio, we care for the environment in several ways.
The paper
I am mindful of the paper I use. My go-to paper for greeting cards, invitations and branding projects is a 300gsm white lightly textured stock that I have chosen not only for its good looks but just as importantly because it is FSC certified. This independent certification means that the paper your project is printed on has been harvested from sustainable sources in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.
The packaging
Where possible I try and pack with environmentally friendly, recycled materials and biodegradable sleeves to make sure your order arrives safely. Even paper offcuts are not wasted as I collect and use them to create beautiful handmade paper, use as packing or my child creates art with them.
On the occasion that I do have to use cello sleeves for an item’s protection I kindly ask that you reuse them where possible.
The yarn
With my hand knitted items I use mostly a mohair/merino blend that is from a single origin farm where the goats and sheep are raised, the wool harvested, spun and dyed. This means there is a lower carbon footprint as its all done at one site before being shipped to me to knit. This Australian farm also does not practice mulsing. Currently a small amount of my items use another Australian made wool and acrylic wool. Notes on this can be found under each product description.
The tea towels
For the cotton tea towels I searched until I found a supplier of Australian certified organic cotton. The tea towels are printed in Melbourne with water-based inks that meet organic standards.
